Doctoral Colloquium

Call for participation

The NordiCHI 2020 doctoral colloquium is a full day session taking place on Sunday, 25th October 2020. It is intended for doctoral students working in the broad field of Human-Computer Interaction.

The doctoral colloquium is an opportunity to present issues of concern relating to doctoral studies, meet fellow doctoral students, and get extensive feedback from the chairs and other participants. It is primarily intended for students in the middle of their studies (you have started your study and already done some work, but it is not too late to make changes based on feedback).

We especially welcome submissions that address trends within HCI in the perspective of the conference theme: shaping experiences, shaping society.

Please note that ACM has recently modified its Publication Workflow and Article Templates for the submission and publication process (see https://www.acm.org/publications/taps/word-template-workflow). Authors must write and submit their papers using the single-column "Review Submission Format".

Please refer to the Instructions for Authors for detailed guidance on the selection of the correct templates, preparation of your manuscript for review and publishing the final version of your paper.

Submissions must have the following components:

Doctoral colloquium paper

Doctoral colloquium papers are 4 to 6 pages in single-column format, excluding references.

Curriculum vitae

You are required to send your academic resumé with a list of publications.

Support letter

You are required to send a letter of recommendation signed by your supervisor.

Selection process

Doctoral colloquium papers will be juried.

Participation

Authors of accepted papers must participate in the doctoral consortium, and register for the NordiCHI 2020 conference.

Participants will be asked to read two other submissions and should be prepared to give feedback to those students during the consortium.
